Pavement milling, also referred to as cold milling or grinding, is the process of removing pavement surfaces using a pavement milling machine. This machine is able to mill or grind the pavement with the use of a rotating drum fitted with metal teeth.
Recycling is one of the main reasons for milling an existing asphalt roadway. The millings or Recycled Asphalt Product (RAP) that is produced in this process is able to be recycled and used in the production of asphalt pavement.
